Commissioners

In accordance with Section 2 of the Schedule of the AC Act, the President of the Republic of Zambia is mandated to appoint a Board of Commissioners, subject to ratification by the National Assembly. The Board is charged with the responsibility of formulating policy and providing strategic direction to the Commission. The current Board of Commissioners constitutes of the following members:

(i) Mr. Musa Mwenye, SC – Chairperson
(ii) Mrs. Irene Chongo Lamba – Vice Chairperson
(iii) Dr. Henry Mbushi – Commissioner
(iv) Dr. O’Brien Kaaba – Commissioner

In performing its functions, the Board is assisted by various committees as provided for under the AC Act. During the year under review, the following committees were in existence:

Community Education Committee
The Committee is responsible for providing policy guidance on matters relating to public education. This Committee is chaired by Commissioner Dr. O’Brien Kaaba.

Corruption Prevention Committee
The Committee is responsible for providing policy guidance on matters relating to corruption prevention. The Committee is chaired by Commissioner Mrs. Irene Lamba

Corporate Affairs Committee
The Committee offers advice and guidance on the development and implementation of corporate plans, programs and external public relations. The Committee is chaired by Commissioner Dr. O’Brien Kaaba.

Audit and Risk Management Committee
The Committee offers advice and guidance on management of various risks associated with the operations of the Commission. Further, it offers advice and guidance on efficient internal controls. The Committee is chaired by Commissioner Dr. Henry Mbushi.

Human Resource and Administration Committee
The Committee provides advice and guidance on Human Resource and Administration matters of the Commission. This includes the review and effective implementation of administrative policies. The Committee is chaired by Commissioner Mrs. Irene Lamba.
