A delegation from the European Union (EU) in Brussels visited the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) this morning to discuss areas of support to strengthen the ACC and enhance the anti-corruption fight.
The EU delegation led by Mr. Le Nounier Xavier informed the ACC Director General Mr. Gilbert Phiri that the EU will be supporting the Government of the Republic of Zambia through a number of key program areas that include: Budget Support; Budget Transparency and Accountability; and, Micro Finance Policies. These will provide an opportunity to strengthen the operations of the Commission.
Meanwhile, ACC Director General urged the European Union to also consider direct institutional support to the Commission in order to address some institutional challenges that may not be attended to through other means of support.
