Livingstone Central MP, 17 Former Councillors Placed On Their Defence For Corruption

The Livingstone Magistrate Court has found Livingstone Central area Member of Parliament Matthews Jere and 17 former Livingstone City Councilors with a case to answer and placed them on their defense for corruption charges.
In 2019 the Anti-Corruption Commission in Livingstone arrested and charged the accused persons with two (2) Counts of Abuse of Authority of Office contrary to section 21(1)(a) of the Anti – Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
The former Councilors are, Milford Mambo, Fred Sikazwe, Ziwa Malilo Ziwa, Patrick Makala, Reuben Kakwasha, Stanley Ngoma, Fennix Liandisha, Frank Kalindima, Steven Simasinti, Friday Chilufya Nkonde, Aggrey Mulako Njekwa, Saxon Simachembele, Liswani Likando, Kabukabu Sikwibele, Choolwe Manunga Lipenga, Dr. Benny Chiyesu and Kingsley Muchindu Siasinyanga.
The matter has been set for the 20th to 23rd October 2020 for commencement of their defence and all the accused persons are currently on Police bond.
The ruling was delivered by trial Magistrate in this matter, Hon. Likando Matakala.
