Former Kaoma Council officials put on defence 
A Kaoma Magistrate has found two former Kaoma Council officials and a businessman with a case to answer and has put them on their defence on allegations of abuse of authority of office and theft of Constituency Development Funds totaling to over K53 million.

The Anti Corruption Commission has welcomed the resignation of ACC Commissioner Mr. Akashambatwa Mbikusita Lewanika following his active involvement in politics.
ACC saddened by electoral corruption reports 
Anti Corruption Commission Acting Director General Mrs. Rosewin Wandi has said the Commission is saddened by information indicating that electoral corruption and malpractices are already at play in the campaigns for the forthcoming presidential elections.

ACC Records 1,170 reports in first half of 2008

The Anti Corruption Commission has recorded a total of 1,170 corruption and non corruption reports in the first half of the year 2008. Out of these reports 418 were categorized as Corruption Complaints only 246 cases were authorized for investigations.

ACC Hands over equipment to Integrity Committees

The Anti Corruption Commission has handed over four computers and printers to FOUR Integrity Committees namely Zambia Police Service, Ndola City Council, Lusaka City Council and the Public Service Pensions Fund. The Equipment funded under the Finish Government is worth K91,279,687.

KATUMBI FORFEITS K1.3BN

DRC Katanga governor Moses Katumbi has forfeited about K1.3 billion to the Zambian government. Task Force on Corruption Chairman Maxwell Nkole told journalists in Kitwe yesterday that Katumbi had signed a deed of surrender regarding his property worth K5.5 billion that was seized by the state and his bank accounts had since been opned.

Former Secretary to the Treasurey James Mtonga yesterday told the magistrates court that he regretted being a beneficiary of fraudulantly obtained funds.
