The Anti-Corruption Commission is a Government institution, which is legally autonomous. It is mandated by the Anti-Corruption Commission Act No. 42 of 1996 to spearhead the fight against corruption through community education, prevention, investigation and prosecution in public and private institutions.

"To effectively spearhead the prevention and combating of corruption in order to promote integrity, transparency and accountability for the attainment of zero tolerance of corruption, good governance and sustainable development for the benefit of all in Zambia.”

Through this statement the ACC will focus its energies on the creation of an environment conducive to preventing corruption from occurring in Zambia.
