  Structure  

Structure of the Commission

The ACC Act creates a two-tier system, the Commission and a Directorate. The Commission consists of part-time members whose responsibility is directing policy on the operations and management of the institution. The present Commissioners were appointed by the Republican President His Excellency Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, SC in 2002. The appointment of Commissioners and the Director-General is subject to ratification by Parliament, whereas the Commission appoints staff of the Directorate in accordance with Section 19 of the ACC Act No. 42 of 1996.

The Commission

The Commission comprises of five Commissioners. The Directorate

The Directorate comprises of the Director General, who manages the day to day operations of the Commission. He is assisted by the Deputy Director General, the Secretary to the Commision and three Directors.
