ACC Arrests Kasama Provincial Fisheries Officer

The Anti-Corruption Commission in Kasama has arrested the Provincial Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator, and also the Regional Statistician of Central Statistics Office for corrupt practices involving K18,000.

Joseph Chiti, aged 42 of Kasama Village, a Provincial Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator, in the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and Danny Muchimba aged 36 of Mukulumpe Township, a Regional Statistician of Central Statistics Office were jointly charged with one count of Theft by Servant contrary to section 272 as read with section 277 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offence being that Joseph Chiti and Danny Muchimba on dates unknown but between 1st September 2017 and 31st January 2018 at Kasama in the Kasama District of the Northern Province being public officers namely Provincial Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator and Regional Statistician, respectively, jointly and while acting together did steal K 18,000 the property of the Republic of Zambia which came into their possession by virtue of their employment .

The suspects have since been released on Bond and will appear in court soon.
